The Ontario Energy Board is reviewing plans to merge two natural gas companies.
Enbridge and Union Gas are proposing to become a single entity.
Calgary-based Enbridge merged with Spectra Energy last year, which is the parent company of Union Gas.
The two companies say the amalgamation will result in more efficiencies, and for the consumer, it will mean lower costs.
If the OEB approves the deal, it wouldn’t take effect until 2019.
Public feedback on the amalgamation of Union Gas and Enbridge is currently being sought.
