The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority has terminated the Flood Warning for O’Connor and Gillies township.
A spokesperson for the LRCA says the Whitefish River crested overnight and will continue to slowly recede during the day; however, flows will remain high for some time.
The public is advised to continue to use extreme caution travelling in the Whitefish River area as many roads sustained damage and may continue to be unpassable.
Residents who experienced flooding within their homes should use extreme caution when assessing damage due to potential hazards and those on wells should have their water tested prior to use.
