41 year old John Tsekouras is being sentenced to 11.5 years but with time served it will work out to 9.5 years.
Justice John Wright sentenced the father of four in his drug possession and trafficking trial late this afternoon.
Lawyer for the accused Joseph Wilkinson says they plan to launch an appeal which could take up to 12 months.
The judge has also ordered a weapons ban for life and a DNA order for Tsekouras.
He was found guilty on eight cocaine and marijuana charges and was convicted on four.
Meanwhile, City Police say the conviction of Tsekouras is a blow to one of northwestern Ontario’s most significant criminal organizations. (File photo)
