St. Joseph’s Care Group is one step closer to building a new 38 million dollar expansion to its hospital on Algoma Street.
The facility will handle mental health patients and lead to the closure of the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital. CEO Tracy Buckler says they’ve applied for a building permit from the city which she says is part of the tender process to make sure nothing stands in the way of getting approval from the provincial government.
Buckler says tenders for the project close next week.
