Thunder Bay Fire Rescue successfully combated a fire on Fassina Street Wednesday evening limiting the total amount of damage.
When fire crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from a garage at the back of the property with a vehicle inside on fire.
A hose line was quickly deployed, and the fire was brought under control. The smoke was cleared from the building and the attic was inspected to ensure the fire did not spread further.
As a result of the fire, two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries and the vehicle inside the garage was heavily damaged, but fire rescue was able to limit damage to the main residence.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue is reminding residents of the importance of working Smoke Alarms and not to re-enter a building once you have escaped.
